African Safari

- Jungle inspired theming
The environment and ambience for the event is created using the eerie and wonderful sounds of the wild - the roaring of the lions, the calling of the monkeys, the shriek of the parrots. A soundscape fills in the background and creates the sounds of the African bush at night.
A signposting warns of dangers and points to well known game park locations including the famous Kruger Ranger Station.
As the guests enter the room they are confronted by a lone percussionist beating his tribal drum. Waiting in the shadows are living statues “Tarzan” and “Jane” painted gold and wearing only leopard skins. On the screen, scenes from the classic black and white movie "Tarzan the Ape Man" play as the visual scene is set to create a memorable night in the tropical savannah of Africa.
Lighting is the life blood of scenery and accordingly we’ve chosen to use a combination of flaming torches, hurricane lanterns and theatrical spotlights. The venue is lit to create the effect of dusk in the great outdoors. Blue room lighting wash fills the internal spaces of the room while specially coloured and focused spotlights pick out key features.
Out on the tables rust coloured cloths with table centrepieces feature a tall stem from a ficus tree with a hurricane lamp hanging from a branch. Around the base - jungle leaf litter. To reinforce the visual and scenery effects, artificial mists suggests the occurrence of tribal cooking activities nearby.
